WayBetter (formerly known as DietBet) is an innovative online platform that uses a betting model to help users achieve their health and wellness goals. The core concept of WayBetter involves participants placing a bet on themselves to reach a specific goal, typically related to dieting or fitness.
My responsibility involved redesigning the DietBet mobile application. The existing app faced usability problems and exhibited a substantial drop-off rate when users attempted to sign up for a new DietBet game. The revamped DietBet mobile app not only increased conversion rates but also enhanced the user experience, culminating in a stellar 5-star rating on the App Store.
As is my standard practice, I began with establishing the user flow and conducting UX design thinking workshops in collaboration with key stakeholders
Once we reached consensus on user needs and pain points, I initiated work on wireframes and wireframe prototypes. Adopting a guerilla-style usability testing approach, I used local coffee shop patrons for these tests.
Following numerous iterations of the wireframe prototype, I began incorporating design elements, creating a pixel-perfect visual design and prototype for usability testing. Upon receiving positive feedback from users, I finalized the visual design and forwarded it to the development team.
